Shultz's Guest House Adoption Application
Our adoption coordinators will guide you in the decision making process if we feel the dog you are interested in is not the right fit. Existing pets in the home must be spayed or neutered before we will consider adoption. As we do not allow drop-ins, we'll work with you to schedule a private appointment to come on site and meet the right fit.

Before opening the shelter, dog pens were built, horse stables were converted to heated kennels, and a portion of the barn was taken over for administrative offices. Each dog that enters the guest house not only has a warm place to sleep and food to eat, they have their own large, grassy pen to romp around in. Stray Pets in Need of MA, Inc. was formed in 1991 to promote the well-being of animals and responsible human/animal relationships. Each year over 400 animals are placed in new, carefully selected adoptive homes. We require everyone in the household to be on-site for the meet and greet, including resident dogs, so we can be certain all family members are on board with the decision.
The majority of our funding comes from donations and adoption fees. Many of the dogs we take in have medical needs that exceed the costs of their adoption fee. We are always very grateful for any additional donation you can provide to help us continue our rescue work and support the pups who are in need. The following matter is not raised by any of the parties but appears from the record.

Please be aware that if you apply for a dog, they may have already found their forever home by the time of your scheduled meet and greet. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis and do not hold dogs. Unlike other shelters, we require you to be an approved adopter with a scheduled meet and greet in order to come on-site. We are fortunate to have access to an amazing facility, but we are located on private property and it’s our responsibility to be respectful to the owners. Knowing and accepting these risks, the undersigned hereby releases and agrees to hold harmless and indemnify the Shelter from any and all actions, claims, or causes of action arising out of or in connection with Volunteer’s presence and/or Volunteer’s assigned or unassigned activities at the Shelter, arising in any manner whatsoever, including personal injuries or property damage which may be suffered by Volunteer whether or not arising out of any negligence or breach of duty by or flowing from the Shelter, or its agents or its employees.
